Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai gives notice hereby to all the aspirants and parents of the
students that Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is a University established through The
Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014 which was subsequently amended in 2018. The
admission in any of the courses and programs i.e. B.A., LL.B. (Hons.), and One Year Regular LL.M. in
Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is strictly subject to the performance of individual
candidates in the Common Law Admission Test conducted by the CLAT Consortium for Undergraduate and
Postgraduate programs.
Some individuals/organizations/institutions are making false, fraudulent, and misleading
advertisements and claims in newspapers, websites, social media, electronic and other media so that they
can ensure admission to Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai. These
individuals/organizations/institutions are charging heavy amounts for such claims regarding admissions.
Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai cautions all the aspirants/parents to refrain from entering
into any transaction with such elements. Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai has not
appointed any individual/agency/organization to make such assurance on its behalf. It is a matter of
policy that Maharashtra National University Mumbai does not charge any capitation fee for admission
from students and this is widely and prominently published on all the relevant places like prospectus,
website, and even in the relevant provisions of the establishing Act of Maharashtra National Law
University Mumbai.
Despite this Notice, if any aspirant/parents still proceed with or enter into a transaction with such
elements, they would be doing so at their own risk and cost. Maharashtra National University Mumbai
further notifies that any aspirant/parent attempting to approach Maharashtra National University
Mumbai for admission through or at the instances of such agents will be permanently debarred from
admission to all the courses and programs at the University.
